Edullinen lasten päivähoito, julkinen terveydenhuolto ja koulut ovat Suomelle tärkeä kilpailuvaltti, sanoo peliyhtiö Reforged Studiosin perustaja Teemu Vilen.

Ne painavat vaakakupissa siinä, minne yritys kannattaa perustaa ja miksi huippuosaajat muuttaisivat työn perässä Suomeen. Kun puhutaan Suomen kilpailukyvystä, hyvinvointivaltio ei olekaan vain kustannus.

Vilen on tehnyt uraa isoissa peliyhtiöissä ulkomailla vuodesta 2007 lähtien, viimeksi isossa Riot Games -peliyhtiössä Kaliforniassa. Nyt hän ja kolme muuta pelialan konkaria ovat perustaneet uuden yhtiön ja palanneet Suomeen. Suomessa pelien tekeminen on siis paljon halvempaa - eli Suomi voittaa kilpailukykyvertailussa pienemmillä työvoimakustanuksilla.

Vilen uskoo, että Suomen hyvinvointivaltio edullisine päiväkoteineen ja kouluineen voi houkutella maahan osaavaa työvoimaa - erityisesti perheellisiä.
